说到“胖”， 大家肯定首先想到的就是: fat
这个单词，指的是 “肥胖肥胖的” 意思。
虽然我们平常都会说肥胖肥胖的。但你要是对一个人说人家“胖”，人家还能接受，那你要是说人家“肥”……(你懂的!!!)
如果你对一个胖子说:
You're really fat . (你真是太肥了！)
估计人家会很忌讳的，肯定会不高兴的，不知道会不会对你动粗～～～

① overweight /ˌəʊvəˈweɪt/
adj. 超重的，过重的，肥胖的

② large /lɑːdʒ/ 是 “大” 的意思，
( large 用来形容一个人胖，它指的就是那种又高又胖的人，大块头的胖子很胖。)

③ chubby /ˈtʃʌbi/
adj.（尤指儿童）圆圆胖胖的，
胖乎乎的，丰满的
如果你的朋友不是那种大块头的很胖的那种，而是那种胖乎乎的，很可爱的，你就可以用chubby来形容他，
通常指的是一些男孩儿或者女孩儿，都有点那种婴儿肥的样子，很可爱。
This chubby girl is so cute.
这个胖乎乎的女孩儿好可爱。
I poked his chubby face with my finger.
我用手指戳了戳他胖乎乎的脸蛋。

④ big-boned /'biɡbəund/ adj. 骨骼大的
(身上肉不多，不胖，但看起来魁梧)

那我们就可以用英文说成：
put on weight 体重增加，变胖了
gain weight / ɡein weit / 体重增加,变胖了
My girlfriend put on weight.
我女朋友胖了.
She looks like she's put on weight.
她似乎发胖了。
If he stops smoking, he would gain weight.
如果他停止吸烟，他的体重就会增加。

One day, Xiaoyu gets on a bus to go home.
一天，小玉坐大巴回家。
There are many people on the bus.
车上有许多人。
She sits next to a fat woman with many bags.
她坐在一个胖女人旁边，她随身带了很多包裹。
So Xiaoyu doesn’t have much space.
所以小玉没有太多的空间。
In about half an hour, the bus gets the bus stop.
大约半小时后，大巴到站了。
All the people begin to get off.

Xiaoyu let the fat woman get off first.
小玉让胖女人先下车。
But the fat woman can’t move.
但是胖女人不能动了。
She is stuck.
她被卡住了。
Xiaoyu has to push the fat woman.
小玉不得不推开胖女人。
The conductor of the bus comes and helps them.
公共汽车的售票员也过来帮忙。
Finally they help her move out of her seat.
最后，他们帮助她离开座位。
But she doesn’t thank Xiaoyu, she shouts angrily to the conductor, “Why do you make so small seats on the bus?”
但她并没有感谢小玉，她愤怒地对售票员喊道:“你为什么在公共汽车上做这么小的座位？”
